Around The Home, Recycle

Craft projects are fun, exciting and entertaining. Making crafts is something that’s enjoyed by adults and children alike but they can use up a lot of resources. Just imagine for a moment how much paper and other materials are used on a daily basis just for craft projects. You might be a little surprised when you really stop to think about it. However, there are many items found in the home that can be used for making crafts instead of purchasing new materials from your local retail store. Some of the things that you can recycle and use for craft projects include the following:

  • Toilet paper rolls
  • Paper towel rolls
  • Straws
  • Egg cartons
  • Old worn out clothing
  • Cereal boxes
  • Plastic bottles
  • Buttons
  • Cardboard
  • CD’s and DVD’s

Using household items to make craft projects will help to inspire creativity in your children. You might be amazed at the wonderful and exciting ideas your kids can come up with for a project when they let their imaginations go. Plus, it’s lots of fun to make things from scratch instead of having everything basically prepared for you with directions.

Teach your kids about recycling by setting an example for them. Save everyday household items that can be turned into craft materials and have a great time making projects together with your kids. It’s an excellent way to spend quality time together. Not only is it good for the environment but it’ll save you money too.
